A great glaze for your Ham can make or break the Christmas dinner, so be sure to impress with the Angliss Perfect Ham Glaze recipe!

Ingredients:

  • Whole Christmas Leg Ham
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Butter
  • 1/2 cup Honey
  • 2 tbsp Dijon Mustard
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon, ground
  • 1/4 tsp Cloves
  • 4 cloves Garlic, crushed (or easy minced garlic)

Method:

  1. Rest Ham at room temperature for 1-2hours. Once at room temp, preheat your oven to 150°c.
  2. Remove the rind/skin off the Ham, leaving the fat and score into a diamond pattern.
  3. Place the Ham in a baking tray; pour 3/4 cup of water into the base of the pan and cover the ham with two pieces of foil or parchment paper and bake for 30 minutes.
  4. Heat 1/2 cup butter in a small saucepan over medium heat until golden brown. Add in 1 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup honey, 2 tbsp dijon mustard, 1/4 tsp cinnamon and 1/4 tsp cloves, stirring to mix together well until the brown sugar has completely dissolved (about 2 minutes).
  5. Reduce heat to low and add in 4 garlic cloves, crushed. Allow it to become fragrant, cooking for a further 1-2minutes until the glaze begins to simmer, then set it aside and let it cool to lukewarm.
  6. After 30 minutes, remove the Ham from the oven and increase the temp to 220°c. Discard the foil or parchment paper and pour 1/3 of the glaze all over the Ham, brushing in between the cuts.
  7. Return to the oven and bake uncovered for 15 minutes. Brush again with 1/3 of the glaze and pan juices.
  8. Repeat step 6 with the last 1/3 of the glaze and pan juices, baking until a dark golden-brown crust has formed. If your crust is still pink, turn on your oven grill for 2-5minutes, while keeping an eye on it so it doesn't burn from the sugar.
  9. Let the Ham rest for 10-20 minutes before slicing.
  10. Serve and Enjoy!
