To Assemble: Fresh & Crispy Gyros:

  • 4 Large Pita Breads
  • 1 Tomato, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 Red Onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup Lettuce, shredded

Method One: Fresh & Crispy:

  1. Season the beef: In a bowl, mix beef mince with onion, garlic, lemon zest, oregano, cumin, salt and pepper until well combined.

  2. Cook the meat: Heat a grate pan or frying pan over medium-high heat. Add beef mixture and cook, breaking up with a spoon until well browned and juicy — about 8–10 minutes. Stir through lemon juice at the end.

  3. Make the tzatziki: While the meat cooks, stir together Greek yoghurt, grated cucumber, garlic, lemon juice, salt and pepper. Keep chilled.

  4. Warm the pitas: Pop pita breads in a dry pan or oven for a minute to soften and warm.

  5. Build your gyros: Spread a generous spoonful of tzatziki on each pita, top with juicy beef, fresh tomato, red onion and lettuce. Drizzle with a touch of olive oil and extra lemon if you like.

  6. Wrap & serve: Fold up, wrap with and enjoy straight away!

To Assemble: Fried Veggies & Cheese Gyros:

  • 4 Large Pita Breads
  • 1 Red Capsicum
  • 1/2 Red Onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup Mushrooms
  • 1 cup Grated Cheese

Method Two: Fried Veggies & Cheese:

  1. Season the beef: In a bowl, mix beef mince with onion, garlic, lemon zest, oregano, cumin, salt and pepper until well combined.

  2. Cook the meat and fried veggies: Heat a grate pan or frying pan over medium-high heat. Add beef mixture and cook, breaking up with a spoon until well browned and juicy - about 8–10 minutes. Add sliced capsicum, onion and mushrooms until fried to your taste. Stir through lemon juice at the end (you can add your grated cheese on top to melt it during this process, or at the end!).

  3. Make the tzatziki: While the meat cooks, stir together Greek yoghurt, grated cucumber, garlic, lemon juice, salt and pepper. Keep chilled.

  4. Warm the pitas: Pop pita breads in a dry pan or oven for a minute to soften and warm.

  5. Build your gyros: Spread a generous spoonful of tzatziki on each pita, top with juicy beef, fried veggies and a handful of grated cheese. Drizzle with a touch of olive oil and extra lemon if you like.

  6. Wrap & serve: Fold up, wrap with and enjoy straight away!
